Kichli Champa is an extremely fine and long grain rice which was often used to prepare pulaos and biriyanis. With a relatively low glycemic index of approximately 50, it is a table rice that can be served every day. Kichili Champa is a farmer's best friend since it's an early maturing rice variety with an ability to withstand droughts and floods, and sometimes open up the opportunity for double cropping.

It is recommended to store rice in a cool, dry area. If it needs to be preserved for a long period, say over a month or more, dried neem leaves can be added into the pack/box. It is better to avoid storing in humid areas as this would cause pests to form faster. Since our heritage rice is purely organic, the husk is sweeter, which in turn could invite pests if not stored as suggested above.
